Beaches:
Playa El Medano -
Cabo San Lucas' main beach is the center of action. The two-mile beach runs from the Hacienda Beach Resort to the marina channel entrance to Club Cascadas and beyond. Playa El Madano is a pretty beach that is safe for swimming. There is a large selection of bars and restaurants located on beachfront. If you are staying in Cabo San Lucas, make sure you visit other beaches along the corridor. You will be amazed at the variety and beauty of the beaches outside of Cabo San Lucas.
Playa del Amor -- "Lover's Beach" out by El Arco.:
Located near Land's End and the famous "El Arco," Playa del Amor is reached by water taxi or glass-bottomed boat from the downtown marina or from across Bahia San Lucas at Playa Medano, just outside of town. The smooth beach is surrounded by towering rock formations, with the Pacific Ocean and Bahia San Lucas on either side. Swimming near the Arch or on the Pacific side is not recommended. The bay side, however, offers calm, clear waters that are good for swimming and snorkeling. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, the waters here can also get rough at times. There are no facilities or amenities on the beach, so visitors should bring lunch and water with them.
San Jose del Cabo Beaches:
Playa Hotelera
Huge, pounding surf. Swimming not advisable. Visit for an awesome display of the ocean's beauty and power.
Playa Costa Azul:
This is Los Cabos' best beach for surfers. There are a number of good breaks her. You will find some restaurants along the beach, along with small grocery stores, and shops for surfboard rentals.
Playa Palmilla:
A mile-long stretch of protected shore and calm waters makes Playa Palmilla a good spot for swimming and snorkeling. There are no facilities on the beach thouh there are some nearby. Playa Palmilla is a great choice for families.
The Tourist Corridor:
Playa Bledito (Tequila Cove)
Located in a protected cove fronting the Melia Cabo Real and the Hilton, this beach has a man made breakwater that creates safe swimming and watersports environment. Often times you can rent jet skis and other equipment on the beach. As with all Cabo San Lucas' area beaches, depending on the ocean storms, swimming can get dangerous. From day to day the ocean changes, and while on some days the ocean here can be flat, smooth and gentle, other days there can be a fairly strong undertow. Overall, however, this is one of Cabo's safest swimming beaches.
Playa Chileno:
A wide, fairly flat beach, ideal for beachcoming, running, swimming and morning snorkeling. This is one of the best spots along the Corridor for watersports. Located at Km. 14 on the Corridor you can swim - snorkel and scuba dive here. This is one of the few beaches in Los Cabos with facilities, offering shaded-palms, and a rental shop.
Chileno Bay offers a tremendous reef that runs from shore and extends 1/2 mile into the bay. Gentle tidal flow and surf makes for safe and easy water entries and exits. Divers and Snorkelers can enter the water right from the beach. With depths of 60 feet at the point you will find whale sharks, mantas, moray eels, octopus, huge sea bass, turtles and sea lions.
Bahia Santa Maria :
Probably Los Cabos' most beautiful bay. Santa Maria is located at Km 13 along the Corridor, Bahía Santa María is right next door to the exclusive Twin Dolphin Hotel. The beach access sign on the highway leads you down a sand packed road that ends in the parking lot. The nicest side of the beach is opposite to where you park. It will take you about 15 minutes to reach the opposite side of the bay. To avoid this walk, go to the Twin Dolphin Hotel for a pool side snack, and then walk down to the beach from the hotel's beach entrance. Bahía Santa María is a protected marine sanctuary with a multitude of fish. Bring your snorkel gear, underwater camera, towels, sunscreen, a cooler of drinks and snacks. Besides driving you can join bus tours offered by most hotels or you can arrange a trip to Santa Maria by power boat or sail boat for sightseeing or snorkeling from the marina in Cabos San Lucas.:
Playa Las Viudas:
Best Beaches for Little Ones & Safe Swimming.

While most of the Los Cabo coastline has crashing surf, there are several coves ideal for snorkeling and swimming.
