Cozy and freshly remodeled 1920's garden-style bungalow, is less than one block from the beach.
Enjoy the backyard’s private Hot Tub, and the Bungalow’s fireplace, Satellite TV w/ recording TiVo and an automated shiatsu-massage chair. Full kitchen includes a dishwasher, coffeemaker, microwave, large toaster, blender, waffle maker, gas stove & broiler, and dishes for eight-plus.
This is an open-architecture style home (that means people in the Kitchen can interact with people in the Living Room,) has a queen Murphy bed in the Bedroom; a queen innerspring futon in Living Room, and two twin-sized cots. All hardwood floors. Free Amenities: local phone calls, DSL computer connection, 100’s of free videotapes to watch, all paper supplies, local newspaper, linens, towels, and even fluffy bathrobes for use after the hot tub.
Use our 4 bikes to ride 10 minutes to the south, to the village of Capitola with its large beach with volleyball courts, seaside restaurants, and fun shops. To the north is the world-famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with the coast's oldest wooden roller coaster and free world-class entertainers on Friday nights. Play croquet on the back lawn or Foozball on a regulation-sized table, while enjoying the large gas barbecue. There are also 6 redwood chairs & tables and 4 beach chairs & umbrellas. Off-street parking for 2 cars.
The street is more of a path with surfers, bicyclists, and strolling people admiring the beautiful gardens, including the Bungalow's.
We have two cats with us when we stay here; so if you're allergic, be advised we cannot guarantee that every speck of cat hair will have been removed, although the cats are gone.
We also help our neighbors find nice people to stay in their homes, so even if our calendar is booked, send me an email and I’ll check who has availability nearby.

Best surfing beaches in the area. Great for pets too. There are several beaches within 10 blocks. One, just 2 blocks to the south is a large sandy cove. The surfer beaches only have a lot of sand at low tide. The beach at 26th Ave to the north and the Village of Capitola are your classic large beaches.

Cancellations/
Refund Policy |
We believe in trading fairly and, as such, we have a cancellation policy that we hope reflects this. We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. Therefore, we will only charge for cancelled rooms should we be financially disadvantaged as a result. We will charge only in the event that business had been turned away from our Home on the nights in question prior to the cancellation, and if we subsequently are unable to re-let these rooms, something we will always endeavor to do.
Reservations cancelled more than 30 days in advance will have a full refund less $50 handling fee.

SECURITY DEPOSIT:
The Security Deposit is $300. The security deposit is due WITHIN 4 DAYS of making your reservation. FAILURE TO RECEIVE YOUR MONIES WITHIN THE 4-DAY PERIOD MAY RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF YOUR REQUESTED RESERVATION, SO PLEASE CALL THAT YOU HAVE SENT THE CHECK. Your security deposit is fully refundable within 10 days of termination of occupancy provided that real and personal property are in the same condition as when occupancy commenced and all terms of this agreement are met.
Tenant is liable for all replacements and repairs that are outside what is considered normal wear and tear.
Payment in full is required 14 days in advance.

What a wonderful place to stay. Took the bicycles down to Capitola (much easier to park than a car, did some retro shopping with my daughter on 41st, played Foozball with my son and my husband totally relaxed in the massage chair! We'll be back. Carolyn Newt, Los Gatos, CA

Prettiest route:
From San Jose: Take Hwy 880 to Hwy 17 South towards Santa Cruz about 26 miles.
Exit to Right and take Hwy 1 South two exits.
Exit at Soquel and at the end of the exit ramp turn Left (stoplight)
At the next stoplight, turn Right on 17th Ave.
Go approx 2 miles, the road will bend to the Left and you are now on
East Cliff Dr.
Continue up & down, mostly along the coast, passed several nice beaches until you get to 35th Ave.
Turn left on 35th and go up to #341. The Bungalow is on your left.

Turn Left and take the gravel alley on the Left just passed the hedge.
Turn into the second opening and you can park two cars there (snugly)
