Waimanalo

Close to the eastern edge of of Oahu is the area of Waimanalo. With a clear view of the mountains and ocean, visitors will always have a clear view of Hawaii's intense beautiful. Waimanalo Beach Park is right outside of the area and it offers visitors a nice retreat from the city. Fishing is possible off the shores of this area, and the nearby park and picnic tables allow for a nice afternoon out under the sun. The winds at Waimanalo also make it great for body-boarding, especially for people who are just beginning to learn. Surfing can be done near Waimanalo at Sherwoods, where the waves are constant and pleasant, making it great for beginners as well. Near Waimanalo is Makapuu, a beach and hiking trail along the coast. Sunrise hikes are popular among locals, and during the spring months, visitors may be lucky enough to see whales breaching off shore. Makapuu Beach is a popular spot for body-boarders because of the strong and constant waves in the area.
