On the western coast of Kauai is the coastal region of Kekaha.
This part of Kauai is close to many of the natural treasures and challenges this island has to offer. As far as treasures are concerned, the beaches of southern Kauai are some of the best. Many of the beaches on the southern side of the island are calm and beautiful, with activities ranging from body-boarding to snorkeling and surfing. Kokee Natural Museum and State Park are also very close to Kekaha, and it is here visitors can learn about how the island was formed through the combination water erosion and volcanic eruptions. From this side of the island, visitors can see the isolated, yet stunning, Na Pali Coast via boat charters and kayaks. During certain months of the year, visitors may even be able to glimpse a whale breaching offshore.
Kekaha is quiet and relaxing as it is the perfect starting point for beginning explorations into the wildlife of Kauai, while offering visitors the right amount of comfort after discovering Kauai's island wonders.
