Destin is a city located in Florida, one of many cities that border the Caribbean Sea. It claims to have the largest fishing vessel fleet in Florida, earning the nickname “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” It is part of Florida’s Emerald Coast due to the waters that glow  the same color against some of the whitest sands in the world. A little known fact about the sand is that a majority comes from the Appalachian Mountains, giving the sand a sugar like appearance. Your eyes would devour this visual delight!

Accessible directly from the beach is Henderson Beach State Recreation Area. This part of land was given to the state by Burney M. Henderson, a businessman who wanted to preserve the beauty of this section of beach from development. Here, one could also have an outdoor adventure, filled with camping, picnicking when not spending time at the beach.

Also available are a variety of water-sports ranging from parasailing to swimming. If looking to take a break from the beach, there are an assortment of museums available for perusing. Destin is a perfect destination if looking to have a little bit of everything in one spot.
