This key is known for the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. It is essentially an underwater park filled with reefs that visitors can explore on their own. However, visitors also have the option to take a snorkeling or scuba-diving tour as well as glass-bottom boats. While here, visitors can also kayak, fish, canoe and swim. Another great dive site to visit while in Key Largo is Spiegel Grove, a sunken navy ship used to create an artificial reef. Fishing is a popular activity on this key, and visitors can find charters to give them the opportunity to catch fish such as sailfish, bonefish, and redfish. Bahia Honda is a great place to spend a day on the beach as it has great swimming and snorkeling opportunities. The nearby Sandspur Beach adds more activities to the roster, such as kayaking and boating.
