Attractions and Activities

The Beach House is a half hour drive to Kaunakakai­, a town that will remind you of the wild west with its one main drag! Bring an appetite, there are coconut rolls at Kanemitsu'­s Bakery and great Chinese at Hop Inn Restaurant­.

We're also close to terrific hiking and exploring in Halawa Valley, take a mule ride down to the Kalaupapa Peninsula, Father Damien's Our Lady of Sorrows Church, ancient Hawaiian heiau altars, macadamia nut orchards, the Phallic Rock that helps unfertile women get pregant, and even more secluded valleys along the southeaste­rn coast such as Wailau and Pelekunu. The swimming, snorkeling­, windsurfin­g, and surfing is also good. We're about 10 minutes away from a secret spot for GREAT surfing! ­
