­Punta del Este is the most famous, and best summer spot of all South
America, and some say of the world.
My vacation home  is situated some 5 kms. from the city
center in a place called Rincon del Indio, on the Oceanside of the
peninsula, where the sea is rough - ''la brava''-
The house is 300 mts from the beach. In the neighborho­od are some of the
swankiest homes of tycoons and movie stars.(min­e doesn´t belong in that
category, =just nice and cozy......­I´m not given to hyperbole)­.
The golf course is around 700 mts. away. The
beach straight ahead is tranquil, two hundred meters to the right is a
stretch of the beach, called La Terraza,
patronized by the ´high society´-s­ame distance to the left is El Pacha,
preferred by profession­als and families. All the beaches are ''good''. ­
Preference depends on whether you have small children, adolescent­s, like
to swim, or play in the waves.

My house, has 3 bedrooms. One with a double bed, the one in the middle
ha­s two beds at floor level and two more in a space above, where the ceiling is highest (ideal for  children) and the third room again has two beds. They
all have the necessary furniture.­
   Sheets ,bl­ankets and bed covers are provided. it has two bathrooms.­
The living / diningroom - 8x4.5 mts- has large curtained windows that
conn­ect visually with the garden, a sofa + coffee table and several armchairs, a flokati type carpet, a bookcase with books, a TV and VCR, a dinningtab­le and 6 chairs (two more chairs can be added from the bedrooms) ­
some original paintings on the walls, a large fireplace - that is seldom
used in the summertime­- a kitchen with brand new frig,a microwave,­
clothesw­asher, and all kind of appliances and abundant tableware.­

Outsid­e is a maid´s room and third bathroom. ­
A ''parrilla­'' for asados(bar­bacue)Two round tables (sitting 6 each) with
plen­ty of garden chairs, etc.,Two beachchair­s and sunshades to take to the beach.
It is on a corner plot of 800 mts garden with trees, hortenses and other
flowers, and to the side is the car parking.
­
I would like $1500 .-dollars for the one week period, half of it in
advance, for the reserve. If you could find another family to share in a
two week rental, I would ask $2500.- for the total two weeks.
Bear in mind that from 21st. December to 11th. January is the highest
s­eason
and at all other times rents are less expensive.­
  Wherever you decide to stay, you will need a car, as one of the pleasures ­
of Punta del Este is to visit all the sights, which are not at one spot. If
you should wish, I can supply you with a small one, for less than you would
pay to rent one. I can also arrange for a maid to come, on an hourly basis or
to live-in. Children are most welcome. The financial situation in this part of the world makes it now very convenient for tourists, for, if things stay as they are, prices,
c­onverted to dollars are very cheap, and you can get lots of leather goods of very
good quality for a fraction of European prices. Same with food, especially­
meat, that is excellent.
End of December - middle of January is the busiest time for airplane
­seats, so I advice an early booking.
