Take your dream Dalmatian island vacation now!

Attractions and Activities

The property is on the island of Ugljan, well connected to the mainland (Zadar) by car ferry to the town of Preko. The island has beautiful landscapes with thick pine forests, lovely sandy beaches (SabuĊĦa, Kostanj and Jelenica), rocky beaches, crystal clear sea, and a mild Mediterranean climate. The closest town is Kukljica, a picturesque tourist/fishing village with a small marina which is very popular with boaters. Kukljica is the "gateway" to Telascica, a favorite sailing destination with its long, 10km bay, as well as to the Kornati Islands with their wild terrain, rugged shores and stunning cliffs (boat tours available). Climb up to St. Michael's Fortress for breathtaking panoramic views of the Adriatic from 265 feet above sea level. In the cove of Kostanj itself, just a 5 min. walk from the villa, there is a valuable historical monument: the tiny restored church of St. Jerome from the 13th century. Eco-tourism is developed in this area due to the unspoiled nature all over the island. You can sample local wine, olive oil, cheese, gelato and indulge in fish specialities in local restaurants. Zadar with its impressive Roman- and Venetian-built walls and gates and 1st century Roman forum is an easy 20 min. ferry ride away, with ferries departing every hour from Preko. There are free summer concerts in the 9th century church of St. Donat. For Zadar cultural events see http://events.frommers.com/sisp/frommers2/index.htm?fx=guide&frommers_id=3652.
