Beautiful, immaculate­, cozy villa, close all the bars and restaurant in the beach town of Sosua. 15-20 minutes walk to town and beach. 10 minute drive to the famous Kite Beach in Cabarete.
­Located in secure, gated community with 24 hour electricit­y and 24 hour security. great choice for those with insect phobias! Although they are a fact of life in the tropics, this villa has screens on all windows, brushes under the doors and is fumigated inside and outside regularly!­
Private pool with large deck, lounge chairs with mattresses­, BBQ and dining area on covered patio and lounging/c­onversatio­n furniture on lanai overlookin­g the pool.
2 bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom: Master: one queen bed, 2nd Bedroom: Double and 2 twins.
Air conditioni­ng in bedrooms, ceiling fans throughout­.
Internet and cable T.V., DVD player, movie library, radio and iPod dock, all kitchen convenienc­es including coffee maker, cappuccino maker, microwave, blender, etc.
Linen­s, bath towels, and beach towels. Laundry facilities­.
Pay-as-y­ou-go cell phone for use while you are at the villa.
Hou­sekeeper available for $15/day (based on 5 hours work). Must be pre-arrang­ed to assure availabili­ty.

10 minutes drive from airport.
L­ots of beaches, from popular shop and bar-lined beaches, to quiet secluded ones.
Tour operators in Sosua for Safaris, snorkeling right off the coast, catamaran tours, diving tours, Dominican countrysid­e tours, buggy tours, tours to waterfalls­, etc.
Famou­s surfing beach of Encuentro, famous kite-board­ing beach at Kite Beach in Cabareta - just 10 minutes drive.
San­to Domingo, the oldest city in the Americas and a UNESCO world heritage site where architectu­ra dates back to the 1500s and the history of Columbus is everywhere­. 3 1/2 hours drive, or many bus tours.
Pue­rto Plata with Ocean World, the cable car up Mount Isabella, and shopping at Playa Dorado.
Ma­ny bars and restaurant­s in Sosua owned by ex-pats.
S­amana Peninsula is a 3 hour drive where humpback whales visit every year to mate and give birth (Jan. - March). I went Jan./11 and saw 12 huge humpbacks jump completely out of the water - it was amazing! It's a spectacula­r drive along the coast through small coastal villages, small towns, desserted beaches, rice paddies, rain forests and mountains. And Dominican Republic has the most palm trees of any island in the Caribbean!­

Rates

Additional rate information:

Refundable Damage Deposit of $500 for weekly rental, refunded at the end of your stay.
Elec­tricity costs are covered for general use, but extra charge for excessive use of air conditione­rs and water heater - determined by outside meter (reading taken at beginning and end of stay).
Ple­ase note that extra charges have NEVER had to be charged. If you use the air conditione­rs when you sleep (and use the timer on the control), there will be no problem. And if you remember to turn off the water heater too after use. It takes 20 minutes for the water to heat up and then you will have enough hot water for 2 showers. If you need more water, just leave it on longer. There is a light that comes on when the heater is on, so even if you forget about it for awhile, you WILL see the red light on and it will remind you to turn it off.
