Espaillat

Espaillat is a province found towards the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. The province is beautiful and provides visitors access to some of the island’s most intriguing sites. This area of the Dominican Republic is slowly growing into a popular destination. Even so, the beaches here are not as crowded as those found in other parts of the island. Espaillat is close to Cabarete, a seaside town that has fantastic beaches.

The fantastic waves and wind here is perfect for wind-based sports. In fact, this beach is one of the most popular destinations for kite-surfers and wind-surfers. Rio San Juan, a small fishing village, is also close to the area. The Laguna Gri-Gri is nearby and visitors can visit this site to see the mangrove forests and unique bird-species that call this area home. Neighboring beaches include Playa Caleton and Playa Grande. Playa Caleton is popular with those who want to swim and snorkel as the waves here are calm and gentle.
