Found in the center of the Dominican Republic’s southern shore is the province known as Azua. The island is full of tropical greenery that beautifully compliments the turquoise waters that grace the beaches.

Azua is a quiet tourist destination in the Caribbean, and with the intense beauty that surrounds the area, it is easy to see why. The city is a little over a mile from the beach but don’t be discouraged by the distance. The Palmar de Ocoa is a nearby town that has a beautiful neighboring beach. The beach has clear warm waters that invite visitors to frolic in the shores. Canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Snorkeling is also popular in the area because of the schools of fish that are known to stay here. This area of the Dominican Republic also makes a great scenic drive because of the mountains that also grace the region.

Azua is truly a quiet place to take a Caribbean vacation. It is remote and partially isolated, but does not hide the beauty of this island. Visitors to the area will be pleased with the natural beauty that has been retained.
