Bonaire is one of the five islands in the Netherlands Antilles. It forms the ABC islands with Aruba and Curacao and is also part of the island group referred to as the Lesser Antilles.
While Bonaire has beautiful sandy beaches like much of the Caribbean, the most notable part about it is the diving and snorkeling opportunities its clear waters invite visitors to do. The reefs and waters are well-maintained by the people and government of this island nation. The warm waters are inviting and allow visitors to stay comfortable in the water.
Diving is just one of many ways to enjoy the warm water of Bonaire. Windsurfing is another popular activity in this area, as there are many competitions held here due to water conditions. The waters are also calm enough for novices to pick up this exciting sport. Lac Bay is perfect for beginners as the barrier reef that surrounds it guarantees smooth water. Kayaking is also available at any of the beaches as well as sailing. In fact, the island hosts a regatta during the month of October for both sailing and windsurfing races.
Bonaire is a beautiful island surrounded by hues of blue that visitors may not be able to see elsewhere.
