Exuma

The Bahamas is home to the district of Exuma, which contains over 360 cays. With so many islands, this area will never run out of activities for any curious traveler.

This island chain is over 120 miles long, so finding space and privacy is rarely ever a problem. Snorkeling and scuba-diving are popular activities in this particular district. There are many shallow coral reefs and blue holes that can be safely explored by visitors. The Exuma Land and Sea Park is a nature reserve that offers snorkeling as well. Popular spots include Loaded Barrel Reef, Jolly Hall and Bird Cay. Popular diving spots include the Bahamian Defense Force patrol boat which has been used as an artificial reef as well as Angelfish Blue Hole and Stingray Reef. Exuma is also known for the fantastic sailing opportunities it offers. Kayaking is another popular activity that allows visitors unique views of the beaches.
