Found in the Bahamas is Andros Island, the largest of the islands in the country. This island has many adventures waiting off its shores for the daring and curious.
Andros is one of the least inhabited islands of the Bahamas which leaves much of its natural beauty intact while inviting many exotic species to come to its shores. The island is gaining a reputation as an excellent dive site as the third largest barrier reef in the world lies east of its shores. This dive site is exciting with colorful coral reefs and mysterious underwater caverns. The island is also close to the Tongue of the Ocean, a deep oceanic trench. Sports-fishing is also very popular around here, especially for those who are interested in catching the Bonefish. These fish are quite challenging to catch, even for the experienced fisher. There are more towns towards the northern parts of the island, and populated places become more remote further south. Regardless, there are many beautiful beaches that can be explored, such as Kemp’s Bay, Congo Town and Driggs Hill.
The island of Andros is perfect for those who want to explore the beautifully untouched nature of the Bahamas.
