A Little About Anguilla
Located east of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea is Anguilla, one of the British overseas territories. This small island is home to 33 beaches, each covered with blankets of powdery sands and views of the ocean reflecting every shade of blue.
Each beach is unique adorned with distinctive coves and coral formations that cannot be found elsewhere. These coral formations make diving and snorkeling around Anguilla perfect, as the clear waters allow for a rich underwater experience. The colorful tropical fish may be of interest to avid divers, and some of the more popular spots include Crocus Bay, Shoal Bay East, Junk’s Hole and Sandy Island. There are also a number of marine parks available that also have reefs along with shipwrecks and limestone walls.
Boating is another popular activity on this island; in fact, boat racing is Anguilla’s national sport. Sailing to some of Anguilla’s hidden, natural features, can be an adventure during the day. While on a boat, there is also the option of fishing. After all, the water is overflowing with all kinds of fish, such as Marlin, tuna, and swordfish.
Activities are plentiful on this small island. Much of Anguilla’s charm comes from the quiet but fascinating life that the locals lead. The integration of daily life with the brilliant ocean makes Anguilla the perfect place to get away from it all.
