Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii

Sunset Beach, North Shore Oahu

Sunset Beach, North Shore Oahu

Sunset Beach is located on the beautiful north shore of Oahu.  A surfer's mecca, the white sand beaches of Oahu's North Shore cover a 7  mile stretch of some of the most beautiful coast line in the world.

Sunset Beach is a long white sand beach decorated with tall, green coconut trees that sway in the wind when the light north east trade's start to blow.  The Turquoise blue water sparkles like saphires in the sun and calls you into the warm Hawaiian water for a soothing swim.

The warm equatorial current that surrounds the Hawaiian islands creates a perfect water temperature of 74 degree's year round.

The water bottom is a soft and sandy. In summer months the water is crystal clear, calm and safe for swimming and snorkeling.  There are wonderful tide pools that are great for collecting shells and observing the wonders of nature. In the winter the waves may be very large and create some rip currents.  Always check with the lifeguards at sunset to see if the conditions are safe.

Sunset Beach is a world famous surfing spot and in the winter month's as you enjoy basking in the warm Hawaiian sun you can enjoy watching surfers from all over the world ride the waves at sunset.

Other favorite activities at Sunset Beach include combing for pretty Puka shells, and other nice Hawaiian shells that have washed ashore, snorkeling, swimming, and walking a mile down the beach to visit the world famous Banzai Pipeline surf break.

Sunset Suzy's surfing school is located near sunset Beach and Suzy's specialize's in teaching beginners how to surf the Hawaiian waves. Places Eat & Things To Do

The Best bet for food is to go to Haleiwa, 5 miles up the road, where you can find an assortment of restaurant's filled with fresh Hawaiian sea food's, sandwich shops and burger joints.  Try 'Haleiwa Joes" for awesome fresh Ono or Ahi.  There food is like we say in Hawaii Ono.. which means very good! At night Halewia Joes has some nice local Regaee Band's who jam until the late night hours.
