The best and most popular beaches on Aruba are situated along the western and southern shores of Aruba. The area is known as the Turquoise Coast for good reason as the color of the water is definitely the best of blues.
The seven-mile string of shore on the western coast of Aruba, referred to as the hotel zone, is where Palm Beach lies.
Palm Beach is the center of Aruban tourism, offering many on the beach and off the beach activities.
The beach itself is a superb stretch of wide white sand that fronts hotels such as the famous Allegro Resort.
Though Palm Beach gets crowded in the winter, the waters here are incredibly blue and teem with neon-yellow fish and flame-bright coral reefs.
Along Palm Beach, the resorts are set in flowering gardens. The gardens take on special beauty precisely because the island is so dry. As you walk along the beach, you can wander through garden after garden, watching the native bird life. Keep an eye out for brightly colored birds that flit around the boulders and dividivi trees; symbols of the island with their branches always pointing to the west, shaped by the ever-present tradewind blowing from the east.
A wonderful, constant breezes makes Aruba one of the best windsurfing sites in the world. Palm Beach is one of the the more popular windsurfing areas.
