Plettenberg Bay is a small town located on the western coast of South Africa. This small town was first called Bahia Formosa, which translates to "beautiful bay." This place is both alluring and tranquil, attracting many visitors at all times throughout the year.

During the winter months, visitors can expect to see many whales off the shores of this place, such as humpback whales beginning in November and southern right whales from June to November. There are many whale watching spots here, such as the Robberg Nature Reserve and Keurboom beaches. In addition to the many whales, there are also many marine mammals that visit this area, such as bottle nose dolphins and Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins. Boat cruises to view these whales are available, and along with sailing charters, offer a great way to enjoy the day. While in the water, there are tons of activities guests can enjoy, such as sea kayaking or canoeing off Plett Central Beach, or diving around the Athena Wreck of Robberg Beach. Guests will never run out of activities in this quiet town.

Plettenberg Bay is perfect for those who truly want to enjoy the wonders of the water.
